Ryan Trevitt has been recalled from his loan spell with Sky Bet League One side Exeter City due to injury.
The midfielder joined Exeter on a season-long loan in July and made 20 appearances for the Grecians, scoring five times and putting in a series of impressive performances during his time in Devon.
Trevitt also won the club's Player and Goal of the Month for October, which was for his stunning strike in Exeter’s 3-2 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup - a game in which the 20-year-old scored both goals.
However, Trevitt suffered an injury in Exeter’s 2-0 loss to Cambridge United on December 22 and will return to the Bees for rehabilitation.
Speaking about Trevitt, Exeter manager Gary Caldwell stated: “We are gutted that Ryan has suffered an injury that will keep him out for a significant period of the remainder of the season.
“He has been in fantastic form for us and has created some memorable moments since joining, scoring the winner at Burton Albion and two incredible goals against Middlesbrough during our fantastic Carabao Cup run.
“I would like to thank Phil Giles, Lee Dykes and Steven Pressley for their professionalism in how they have dealt with the whole process.
“Allowing us to loan Ryan in pre-season was beneficial in making his time at the club a success, along with the communication throughout and how they have dealt with Ryan since his injury."
