Thomas Frank was appointed as Brentford head coach on this day in 2018.

Only the second man to lead the Bees in the top tier, Frank has the record for the most wins in his first 200 games in charge (90).

He is also in third place for total victories as manager in club history (117) - only Malky MacDonald (163) and Harry Curtis (306) have surpassed that mark.

To celebrate the sixth anniversary of Frank’s appointment, we look back on the Bees’ most memorable victories under the Dane.

Brentford 2 Millwall 0 (Sky Bet Championship, 3 November 2018)

Having replaced Dean Smith on 16 October, Frank was still without his first win heading into November, after three defeats from his first three games in charge.

Millwall were Brentford's next opponents as they headed to Griffin Park for a London derby.

Goals from Sergi Canós and Ollie Watkins secured Frank's first win in charge, which bumped Brentford up to 13th in the table.

The Bees eventually went on to finish two places higher come the end of the 2018/19 season.

Brentford 1 Newcastle United 0 (Carabao Cup quarter-final, 23 December 2020)

Two years later, the Bees beat local rivals Fulham 3-0 to reach the League Cup quarter-final, where they were drawn against Premier League side Newcastle United.

The clash at Gtech Community Stadium was behind closed doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic but, despite the Brentford fans not being present to cheer the team on, they secured a deserved win thanks to a second-half strike from Josh Dasilva.

Frank labelled the victory a “big step for the club” as the Bees reached a major semi-final for the first time in their history and proved that they were more than capable of going toe-to-toe with top-flight opposition.

Brentford 2 Swansea City 0 (Sky Bet Championship play-off final, 29 May 2021)

It turned out Brentford would have to get used to facing Premier League sides as they secured promotion to the top flight after a 74-year absence later that season.

Having finished third in the table and beaten Bournemouth in the play-off semi-final, the Bees went on to face Swansea City at Wembley Stadium in the final.

An Ivan Toney penalty and a composed finish from Emiliano Marcondes was enough to win it for the Bees, which left Frank admitting he was “very emotional” and was going to get “very drunk” after the victory!

Brentford 2 Arsenal 0 (Premier League, 13 August 2021)

It didn’t take Brentford long to secure their first-ever Premier League win when they took on Arsenal at a packed Gtech Community Stadium on the opening night of the 2021/22 season.

The three-time Premier League winners rocked up in west London and were shellshocked as Sergi Canós opened the scoring, before Christian Nørgaard doubled the Bees' lead with 15 minutes left to play.

It was a special night which featured numerous memorable moments, including an emotional post-match rendition of Hey Jude, as well as Frank’s embrace with Bees super-fan Woody at full-time.

It is a game that will undoubtedly go down in Brentford history.

Brentford 4 Manchester United 0 (Premier League, 13 August 2022)

A year to the day after that Arsenal victory, Manchester United were Brentford's first opponents at the Gtech for the 2022/23 campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Co were incredibly 4-0 down after 45 minutes, with Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Bryan Mbeumo all finding the back of the net against the 13-time Premier League champions.

Frank said he was “speechless” after the win, which was the Bees' biggest winning margin since promotion to the top flight.

Manchester City 1 Brentford 2 (Premier League, 12 November 2022)

Having lost on penalties to League Two side Gillingham in the Carabao Cup the Tuesday before, the Bees were looking to head into the mid-season break with a positive performance at Manchester City.

It wasn't going to be easy, however, with the Premier League champions having lost just one game all season. Their star striker Erling Haaland had also scored 18 goals in 12 games.

Ivan Toney shocked the hosts by opening the scoring, before England international Phil Foden equalised just before half-time.

While it looked like Brentford were holding on for a point at the Etihad, a blistering counter-attack saw the ball find its way to Ivan Toney, who incredibly netted a 98th-minute winner.

Frank described the 2-1 victory as "the one, single biggest result in the club’s history."

Brentford 3 Liverpool 1 (Premier League, 2 January 2023)

Brentford beat Liverpool 3-1 to make it seven points from a possible nine over the festive period last year.

Ibrahima Konaté turned into his own net to give the Bees a 19th-minute lead, which Yoane Wissa doubled on the stroke of half-time.

Liverpool pulled one back through Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain five minutes after the restart, but Brentford were not to be denied.

After keeping the Reds at bay, Mbeumo struck on the counter-attack with six minutes to play to ensure a winning start to 2023.

“Beating [Manchester] United here, beating [Manchester] City away, and now beating Liverpool at home - that's insane,” said Frank after the final whistle.

“I will not say it's a surprise. It’s a good thing that the result backs the performance up, that we do something really, really well. That's incredible.

“They're not surprising me, the players, but they keep massively impressing me every day with the effort they put in and then with a performance like this today.”

Chelsea 0 Brentford 2 (Premier League, 28 October 2023)

Brentford became the first-ever team to win on their first three visits to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

The home side dominated the ball, but the Bees made their moments count as second-half goals from Ethan Pinnock and Mbeumo secured three more points in SW6.

For the opening goal, Mathias Jensen collected the ball before clipping it down the wing for Mbeumo. The Cameroonian's cross to the far post was headed home by Pinnock, who had run the length of the pitch to rise above Axel Disasi and net his first goal of the campaign.

The home side continued to push but, in the final minute of stoppage time, with Chelsea keeper Robert Sánchez having come up for a corner, Neal Maupay carried the ball into the hosts’ half and passed to Mbeumo, who rolled home into an empty net.

That victory meant that the Bees also won four consecutive away London derbies for the first time in their league history.
