Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has been named as 2022 Danish Coach of the Year.

Frank, who guided the club to 13th in the Premier League last season and has the Bees in eighth this term, previously won the prize in 2020.

That made him the first-ever coach working overseas to win the award, after he helped Brentford to promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history.

This year, Frank was surprised with the award by Danish journalist Rene Schroder, who came into a team meeting dressed as Buzz Bee, before presenting the head coach with the prize.

“To get this, of course, is, personally, very, very nice," said Frank after he was handed the award.

“But I only got this because we have top players that are top people, and top staff that are top people. In that way, it makes it easy.

“It is a pleasure to come to work every day. A lot of days, I actually leave at 5/5.30pm and think, ‘Did I enjoy it enough?’, because it’s such a nice place to come to work.

“So, thank you so much for this.”

Other previous winners include Morten Olsen, Stale Solbakken, and current Denmark head coach Kasper Hjulmand.
