Brentford had the best home record in the Football League in 2014 as Mark Warburton’s men ended the year in the Sky Bet Championship play-off places following promotion from League One.

The Bees secured promotion back to the second tier for the first time since 1992 in April as they finished second in Sky Bet League One behind Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Under Mark Warburton The Bees won 17 of their 23 games at Griffin Park in 2014, losing just three times.

No other team in the Football League won more than 15 games at home and Brentford’s home win percentage of 78% was also the best in all three divisions.

The Bees finished 2014 sixth in the Championship with 40 points from 24 matches.

Their final game of 2014 was a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers and it was Wolves who ended the year with the most points in the calendar year with 92.

Brentford’s 85 points from 47 games was the joint fourth most in 2014 level with AFC Bournemouth and behind only Wolves, Preston North End and Derby County.

Only Wolves won more league games in 2014 than Mark Warburton’s side with The Bees racking up 25 wins while Kenny Jackett’s men picked up 27 victories.

Griffin Park was also a great place to see goals in 2014 as The Bees notched 44 goals in 23 league games, behind only Derby County, Preston North End, AFC Bournemouth and Watford.

The Bees conceded 22 goals at home last year meaning fans saw an average of just under 3 goals a game for all the games played in TW8 in 2014.

Mark Warburton’s side weren’t shy of scoring away from home either and their total of 73 goals over the course of the year was bettered by only eight sides in the entire Football League.
