Brentford has teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

A superb left-footed strike from Vitaly Janelt (£4.9m) opened the scoring at Fulham, assisted by Christian Nørgaard’s (£4.8m) short pass. It puts the German on one goal and two assists from the latest four matches and he soon had another shot that deflected narrowly wide.

Mark Flekken (£4.5m) made an impressive 10 saves against Fulham. Only once before, against Man City in Gameweek 23 of the 2023/24 season, has he made more in Premier League match. The Bees shot-stopper is FPL’s top goalkeeper for both stops (54) and save points (15) so far this campaign.

Another attacking chance of note came right at the end when Mads Roerslev (£4.4m) set up a close-range Fábio Carvalho (£4.8m) effort that was denied.

The Spotlight

The most-bought FPL player for both Gameweeks 9 and 10 belongs to Brentford. Exciting midfielder Bryan Mbeumo (£7.8m) has already risen in price eight times this season and is projected to do so again before Saturday’s deadline.

Although Monday night was his quietest outing of the season, it’s immediately followed by a meeting with Bournemouth, a side that he netted past on both 2023/24 occasions.

Furthermore, Mbeumo has scored seven times in five home matches. This is appealing to Fantasy managers because the usual set-piece and penalty duties mean he has multiple routes to points, regardless of opponent.

A goal conversion rate of 38.1 per cent is one of the best around and only Erling Haaland (£15.3m) has hit the back of the net more times.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere, Dominic Solanke (£7.6m) disappointed during a three-match period of two shots and none on target - but he suddenly exploded in the second half against Aston Villa. Two goals and an assist made him the week’s highest scorer with 16 points.

Shortly behind was the 15 of Nottingham Forest full-back Ola Aina (£4.7m). He delivered at both ends versus West Ham, with team-mate Chris Wood (£6.5m) bagging his inevitable goal to take Nuno Espírito Santo’s side up to third place.

As for Mohamed Salah (£12.8m), he’s now on 12 attacking returns from 10 appearances.

In Demand

The four above are currently the most purchased heading into Gameweek 11, with Mbeumo shortly behind.

Haaland is the most sold, as it becomes increasingly tougher to justify his huge price tag. A promising five-match run brought merely one goal and 14 points, while Salah continues to excel. Owning both in a well-balanced squad isn’t easy, therefore many have decided to proceed with the Liverpool star.

Captaincy

What makes this week’s armband race quite interesting is that six of the top eight face each other: Liverpool v Aston Villa, Brighton v Manchester City and Chelsea v Arsenal.

With Haaland, Salah, Cole Palmer (£11.0m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) being confronted by strong opponents, it creates an opportunity for managers to significantly boost their rankings by picking a more differential captain.

Perhaps a Tottenham asset like Solanke or Heung-min Son (£9.9m) instead. The league’s top scorers host newly-promoted Ipswich, who’ve conceded the most big chances (45) so far.
