Brentford’s Premier League season started in exciting fashion after we came from behind to draw 2-2 with Leicester at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

Ivan Toney was the Bees’ highest scorer in Gameweek 1 with eight points, after netting the first of our two goals against the Foxes.

We welcome Manchester United to the Gtech Community Stadium for Gameweek 2 and our new signing Mikkel Damsgaard, who is available for selection, has been priced at £5.5m.

Which other Brentford players are worth considering and who are the value picks from the other clubs in the division?

Brentford

Ivan Toney - £7.0m

After his 12-goal haul in the top flight last season, Ivan continued this campaign in similar fashion with a goal against Leicester.

He will be looking to add to his tally when United come to town on Saturday evening - a fixture he scored in last season - and, priced at £7.0m, the Bees’ highest point scorer from Gameweek 1 could be a good option against a Red Devils defence that conceded twice in a defeat to Brighton last weekend.

Josh Dasilva - £4.5m

The other goalscorer from last weekend’s draw in the East Midlands was midfielder Josh Dasilva, whose equaliser at the King Power was his first-ever Premier League strike

Thomas Frank credited the midfielder – who is priced at £4.5m – after the game, praising his fitness and sharpness. Despite being out injured for the majority of last season, Bees fans know exactly what Josh is capable of (23 goal contributions during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 Championship seasons combined), which could make him a good value pick for your team.

Best of the rest

Erling Haaland - £11.6m

Erling Haaland introduced himself to the Premier League by scoring twice on his Manchester City debut in a 2-0 win over West Ham last weekend. Racking up 13 points in Gameweek 1, the Norwegian striker’s price has already risen to £11.6m.

And there could be more points on offer for the centre-forward when Bournemouth travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, despite Scott Parker’s side keeping a clean sheet against Aston Villa last weekend. The Cherries conceded 65 goals during their last campaign in the top division, and Haaland will undoubtedly be hungry for more goals this weekend.

Pascal Gross - £5.5m

Another player to score a brace last weekend, perhaps surprisingly, was Brighton’s Pascal Gross. He took advantage of a Manchester United defence that is still a work in progress under Erik ten Hag and netted both of the Seagulls’ goals in a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

Scoring a divisional high of 15 points in Gameweek 1, Gross will be keen to add to what was an impressive first performance of the season this weekend. Still priced at £5.5m, the German midfielder – who is also on set-pieces for Graham Potter’s side – is one to seriously consider for Gameweek 2.

Wildcards

Harvey Elliott - £5.0m

With Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara reportedly out of action for up to six weeks and the likes of Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also unavailable, Elliott could be given his chance in the Reds’ First Team against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The ex-Fulham midfielder came off the bench against his former club at Craven Cottage in their 2-2 draw last weekend, helping his side fight back to win a point against the Cottagers. Elliott could be a must-have in your team at £5.0m if he is a regular starter for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the coming weeks.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - £5.0m

Brentford fans will be well aware of Dewsbury-Hall’s ability following his goal against the Bees last weekend, which prompted Thomas Frank to ask “what they feed” the Leicester midfielders after another impressive display.

Dewsbury-Hall (£5.0m) recorded 35 key passes and 21 shots in the last campaign, has been handed a key role in the Leicester starting XI by Brendan Rodgers, and will see their clash with Arsenal as a good opportunity to contribute again.
