We added to the back line last week with the signing of Ben Mee, who agreed a two-year deal in West London. Here are some of the key facts that you might know and some you might not.

Born in Sale, Mee started off in the academy system at Manchester City. He represented England at several youth levels up to the Under-21s. He was also the captain of the City team that won the 2007/08 FA Youth Cup, beating Chelsea 4-2 in the Final.

His only appearance in the senior side was in the League Cup, a 2-1 defeat to West Brom on 22 September 2010. He started the match, alongside a number of other City youngsters, including Javan Vidal and John Guidetti getting their debuts also.

He moved on loan to Burnley in July 2011, before agreeing a permanent switch to Turf Moor a year later. Just before that period, he got a six-month loan to Leicester City.

He made 376 appearances for The Clarets, across seven seasons in the Premier League and four in the Sky Bet Championship. He scored three goals for Burnley last season, against Everton, Crystal Palace and Tottenham - his highest single-season tally throughout his career.

When asked about his toughest opponent during an 'Ask Mee' feature, he said: "There have been some partnerships like Sergio Aguero and David Silva that were tough. Harry Kane too, going up against him individually, he is a top class player and an all-round striker. Aguero was the hardest, he was difficult to mark and awkward. He drifted in and out of the game but you always had to be alert."

He spent nearly six years working with former Brentford centre-back and England international James Tarkowski. The pair first played together on 20 February 2016, in a second tier match against Rotherham United that ended in a 2-0 Burnley win. They would both help the side to promotion that season, winning the title with a four-point gap to Middlesbrough in second.

Mee was forced to sit out the final 13 games of last season after suffering a broken leg. He stepped into a leadership role within the dressing room when Mike Jackson took over from Sean Dyche as caretaker boss in April. That couldn't stop Burnley slipping to relegation on the final day of the season.

Mee is very environmentally friendly and as part of his move from Burnley to Brentford, he donated money to offset his carbon footprint. He said: "I'm conscious that transfers rack up lot of air miles and a lot of driving miles as well, so I'm looking to offset my emissions for this transfer. I'm not perfect, but I want to do my bit to make this transfer carbon neutral."
