Brentford have agreed a deal to sign Danish international defender Henrik Dalsgaard. The 27-year-old will join The Bees from Belgian side Sportvereniging Zulte Waregem when the Transfer Window opens after an undisclosed fee was agreed for his transfer. He has signed a three-year contract and will join The Bees ahead of the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship season.Henrik worked his way up through the Danish leagues before signing for AaB Fodbold. He joined the Danish Superliga side, better known as AaB, in 2009 and played more than 150 league games for the Aalborg based club. He won a league title and a Danish cup when with AaB and earned Under-20 and Under-21 caps for his country. Henrik left Denmark in late 2015 and moved to Zulte Waregem on a free transfer. In 18 months in Belgium Henrik has earned a place in the Danish national squad, making three appearances for his country so far. He won the Belgian cup with Zulte Waregem last month and has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring six goals, despite a hip injury causing him to miss some of the campaign. Henrik, who will turn 28 in July, has primarily played at right back but can also play further forward.Dean Smith, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: “Henrik is a player that we have been looking at for some time and someone we believe can improve the squad. We have watched him quite a few times and we like his qualities on the pitch. We also believe he has the right character to fit in to the squad and help us improve. I am looking forward to working with him next season.”Rasmus Ankersen, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, added: “It is always nice to sign players early in the summer window. Having as much of the squad together at the start of pre-season as possible will only help us prepare. I would like to welcome Henrik to Brentford and look forward to seeing him as part of our training group when the players return next month.”
