Ivan Toney has been training with England at St George's Park ahead of the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 qualifier against Italy on Thursday.
It is the first fixture of England's qualification for next year's European Championships. They are in Group C alongside Italy, Ukraine, North Macedonia and Malta.
The match, which is being hosted at Napoli's Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, is being shown on Channel 4. Kick-off is at 7.45pm, with coverage beginning from 7pm.
England then host Ukraine at Wembley on Sunday 26 March (5pm kick-off). This game will also be broadcast live on Channel 4.
Toney was included in the Three Lions squad in September 2022 for their games against Italy and Germany but didn’t make it onto the pitch.
The striker has 20 goal contributions in the Premier League this season (16 goals, four assists), with only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane outscoring him.
Explaining his decision to select Toney, England manager Gareth Southgate said: “I think before the World Cup, Callum Wilson hit form at just the right time. He has had a little bit of an injury that has inhibited his performance in the last few weeks.
“As soon as we named our squad, he [Toney] had a brilliant game at Manchester City which is typical. He is playing really well. I like his presence in games.
“I saw his game at Arsenal where he was outstanding and he deserves his opportunity.”
