Ivan Toney has been rewarded for his fine form for Brentford with a second call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

The Three Lions begin their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign against Italy in Naples on Thursday 23 March (7.45pm kick-off), before hosting Ukraine at Wembley on Sunday 26 March (5pm kick-off).

Toney, who is celebrating his 27th birthday today, was included in the Three Lions squad in September 2022 for their games against Italy and Germany but didn’t make it onto the pitch.

The striker scored one goal and set up the other as Brentford beat Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s last night.

Toney has 20 goal contributions in the Premier League this season (16 goals, four assists). Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane have outscored him.

Toney isn’t the only Brentford player on international duty this month. Take a look at the Bees’ confirmed call-ups below.
