Ellery Balcombe was an unused substitute as England's Under-18s finished their trip to Sweden with a 2-1 win over their hosts in Tibblevallen. The B Team goalkeeper impressed on his debut in Friday's 1-0 defeat but was replaced by Millwall's Ryan Sandford for yesterday's match. Neil Dewsnip's side took the lead on the half-hour through midfielder Mason Mount and his Chelsea team-mate Martell Taylor-Crossdale doubled England’s advantage five minutes before half time. The home side pulled one back just after the break but the Young Lions held on to return home with the win.
Ellery has made six appearances for Flemming Pedersen's B Team this season and will hope to be involved with England's Under-18s when they take on Poland and France in a tri-tournament later on this year.
