Brentford forward Keane Lewis-Potter is ready for more ‘good battles’ in the USA, with the Bees' Premier League Summer Series campaign underway.

The 21-year-old was one of the top performers for Thomas Frank’s side in their first clash of the competition against Fulham on Sunday, a 3-2 defeat in Philadelphia.

And, with Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa still to come, Lewis-Potter is looking forward to more of the same, hoping that it will continue to prepare the squad well for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

He said: “We want to show what we can do in those games, but the other teams are going to want to do that as well. I’m looking forward to some good battles. In this heat, it’ll be very tough, but it’ll hopefully all be worth it."

On the prospect of playing in front of more than 70,000 people at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, he added: “That’ll definitely be one of the biggest crowds I’ve played in front of. I’m really looking forward to it. It looks like an unbelievable stadium, there'll be so many fans in there, so it’ll be a great experience.

“I want to focus on building my fitness, making sure I feel right for the upcoming season.

“It’s about building my confidence in these games as well, trying to get on the scoresheet and create chances. All the sort of things you want to do in pre-season.”

Brentford are a week into their tour of the USA and, after initially being based in Washington, have since travelled to both Philadelphia and Atlanta.

And while Lewis-Potter has been delighted with the facilities that have been available to the Bees, the Hull-born youngster is struggling with other aspects of the trip across the pond.

“I knew it was hot out here, but I didn’t know it was going to be like this! It’s just so humid and sticky," he continued.

“We were doing a warm-up the other day before training, it literally had no intensity, and everyone was absolutely dripping.

“It’s ridiculous in this heat, it’s so tough. But we do all that to stand us in good stead for the games coming up and the Premier League season as well. It’s only going to benefit us.

“But I really like the country, it’s really different to what I’m used to back in the UK. Going to things like the Monument and the White House is all a bit surreal.

“I’m really enjoying and I think all the other boys are as well. We’ve got a really good base here, good facilities, and we’re looking forward to the games ahead.”
