Brentford defender Zanka discussed how the Bees' gameplan worked perfectly in their 2-0 win against the Blues.

And the defender, whose header deflected off Cesar Azpilicueta for the opening goal at Stamford Bridge, was delighted to get another win against our west London neighbours.

"I've got really good memories of coming to Stamford Bridge and this is just another one to add to the books," he said.

"It's been a while for us to get three points so these taste even sweeter."

He added: "We all know the state Chelsea are in at the moment: they're trying to find their feet, an interim manager; and that's what we tried to exploit.

"We knew that they've got good players that would put us under pressure, but we were pretty sure that, with the way we defend, the players we've got and the collectiveness we have, we could withstand that.

"We wanted to hurt them with set-pieces, with counter-attacks, and it basically ended up exactly how it was drawn on the tactics board!"

After Brentford's victory at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, Chelsea are currently eight points and two places below them with seven games to play.

And, when asked what finishing above the Bees' west London rivals would potentially mean to the supporters, Zanka stated: "That's something that Brentford fans would remember for a long, long time.

"We, as players, come ago but this is something that they could really cherish.

"They'll probably be singing about this result for a long time, not just this season or this year."
