Last week, B Team midfielder Jaakko Oksanen was awarded Most Promising Young Player of the Year by the Finnish Football Association.
The 2018 awards ceremony, known as the Captain's Ball, was held in Helsinki's Clarion Hotel, and the night also included a prize for the most promising female player of the year. That was won by 19-year-old Saara Lappalainen of FC Hongan.
Jaakko was brought through the academy at HJK Juniors before joining Brentford B in January this year. He has featured in 24 games for Kevin O'Connor's squad. Jaakko last featured for Brentford B on Wednesday 7 November, captaining the squad on his 18th birthday.
B Team Head Coach Kevin O'Connor said: "We're very pleased that Jaakko has been rewarded for his hard work on the pitch. He is very talented midfielder who is developing well as part of our squad, and as a youth international.
"This week we have passed on our congratulations to Jaakko, from the staff and the rest of the players at Jersey Road."
