Brentford are delighted to announce the signing of Jonathan Mitchell from Scottish Championship side Falkirk for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.

The 18-year-old central-midfielder completed a medical with The Bees this afternoon (Wednesday 20 June), and has signed a two-year contract. There is a Club option for an extra year. He will be part of the B Team group initially and will join the squad for pre-season training later this week.

A Scotland youth international who can also operate in defence, Jonathan was involved in last summer’s Under-17 European Championships. He has progressed to the Under-19 ranks and has earned four caps at that level to add to the seven he won for the Under-17 side.

Kevin O’Connor, Brentford B Head Coach, said: “We welcome Jonny to the Club and are looking forward to working with him. His qualities will be a big asset to the squad, as will his international experience and obvious work ethic.”
