Brentford FC winger Josh Clarke has joined Sky Bet League Two Dagenham and Redbridge on loan.

The speedy right sided attacker was promoted to Brentford’s First Team Squad from the Development Squad towards the end of the 2013/14 season and signed a new one-year contract in the summer.

He has joined the East London side on an initial 28-day Youth Loan.

Josh will link up with The Daggers today, Friday August 22, and will stay with them until Sunday September 21.

The 20-year-old has had a meteoric rise since joining The Bees in 2011.

Prior to signing a two-year scholarship at the age of 17 he was effectively playing park football.

He completed his scholarship last summer and signed a professional contract, as part of the Development Squad.

Josh made his First Team debut in the Capital One Cup defeat to Derby County last August and also featured in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Peterborough United in October before making his league debut in April against Colchester United.

Speaking about his move to East London on loan Brentford FC manager Mark Warburton said: "Josh has done very well in pre-season training for us.

"It is now important for his development that he goes out and plays in important league games.

"Dagenham and Redbridge are a good club and it will be a great environment for Josh to learn in.

"Hopefully this move will work out for all parties involved."
