Josh ended an 11-year association with Arsenal this summer. He had been with their academy since he was eight and progressed through the youth ranks. He turned professional at the start of last season and made his debut for The Gunners in the Carabao Cup against Doncaster Rovers. He also made appearances in later rounds against Norwich City and West Ham United and has played for Arsenal in the Under-23 Premier League and the UEFA Youth League.

Josh has also been part of the England youth set-up in recent years. He made his Under-19 debut as part of the squad that won the UEFA European Under-19 Championships last summer. He played three games in the tournament, one of which was the final. Josh represented England Under-20 last season and has played ten games for his country overall.

It is great that Brentford now has a reputation for being able to offer that to the best young players and that they are keen to join us. It also helps that we play football in a way that Josh will be used to from his upbringing at Arsenal. We look forward to watching him develop over the coming seasons."
