Striker Justin Shaibu has completed a loan move to Sky Bet League One Walsall. The 20-year-old completed the move to the League One side at lunchtime today, Monday 29 January. Justin will spend the second half of the 2017/18 season with The Saddlers as they look to climb the League One table.

Justin is one of the first graduates of the new Brentford B team. The Danish youth international, joined The Bees from HB Køge for an undisclosed fee last summer after a successful trial and made an immediate impact. He scored regularly in B Team friendlies last season and forced his way in to the First Team match day squad. He signed a new three-year contract in the summer and was promoted to the First Team group permanently for this season.

Justin made his First Team debut in the EFL Cup at Exeter City in August 2016 and made his Sky Bet Championship bow against Rotherham United last February. He played a key role in winning a penalty that saw The Bees go 3-2 up in that match in the dying seconds. He made three more Championship appearances last season and was an unused substitute on four further occasions. Justin scored ten goals in 18 appearances for the B Team last term and has added a further three goals for Brentford B this term.

Injuries have restricted Justin’s First Team appearances this season but he did notch his first goal in English football in a Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon at the start of the campaign. He contributed assists in further Carabao Cup ties against Queens Park Rangers and Norwich City and made two more substitute appearances in the Championship. Justin has represented Denmark at Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 level and has 11 international appearances to his credit, scoring twice.

Dean Smith, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: “I spoke to [Walsall Manager] Jon Whitney and I believe the loan move will be of great benefit to both Walsall and Justin. Justin has had a stop-start first half of the season with injuries but is a player we believe has great potential. He has already scored against a League One team this season and we think that is the level he is at currently. We know he will get well looked after at Walsall and believe he will do well for them.”
