B team forward player Lachlan Brook has joined Crewe Alexandra on loan until January.
The Australia Under-23 international, who spent the last five months of last season on loan with Adelaide United, travelled to join the League Two side yesterday and completed the deal earlier today.
Brook joined Brentford’s second squad in October 2020 and has since played 35 times for Neil MacFarlane’s side, scoring seven goals. He was also part of the Australia side that reached the Semi-Finals of the AFC U23 Asian Cup in Uzbekistan this summer. On Lachlan making the switch to Crewe, B Team Head Coach Neil MacFarlane said: “It's a brilliant opportunity for Lachlan. He went away and did really well in his loan spell in Australia and he also backed that up with his international performances too. He's now got an opportunity to go and play in the Football League which is really encouraging for us as a B Team having seen a number of players in recent months step out to play at that level in Paris Maghoma on loan, as well as the likes of Ben Hockenhull and Dom Jefferies who recently moved on.
“I think he will be able to handle the physical side of the game in League Two. He has outstanding attributes in terms of his technical qualities with his assisting and finishing, and hopefully he can go and do that for Crewe over the coming months."
