Lasse Vibe's Denmark top Group A of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games Football Tournament after a 1-0 win over South Africa in the early hours of this morning. Substitute Robert Skov scored the only goal of the game with 20 minutes to play in Brasilia as The Danes moved into pole position to qualify for the last eight. Lasse played the full 90 minutes and came close to opening the scoring in the first-half but he was denied one-on-one by South African goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
The victory leaves Denmark on four points and should Niels Frederiksen's side avoid defeat against hosts Brazil on Wednesday they will be guaranteed a place in the Quarter-Finals. Defeat would even be enough to see them through if the other game between South Africa and Iraq ends in a draw.
