There was 90 minutes and a thumping 5-0 win for Ellery Balcombe as he featured for Burton Albion away at Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday.
Interestingly, all five goals came in the second half and very much in quick succession in a match where Ellery kept a clean sheet.
Aaron Amadi-Holloway netted a hat-trick of second half headers whilst there were also goals for Charlie Lakin and Jonny Smith. Burton actually still exited the competition after finishing third in their group.
Alex Gilbert helped Swindon Town to a 1-0 win over Newport County at home. The Brentford B man played the full 90 minutes in a game which was won shortly before the hour mark as Jordan Lyden found the net.
The win means Swindon finish top of their group in the competition as they now have their sights set on the knockout stages. Next up for Swindon is league action and they’ll play Newport once again but this time they will travel to South Wales in a 3pm kick-off.
Our other loan players have linked up with their nations for international duty. Halil Dervişoğlu, Patrik Gunnarsson, Jaakko Oksanen and Aaron Pressley will all be aiming for minutes in the next week or so as all of them take part in competitive international action.
