The first weekend of the international break meant a reduced number of games for our loan players last week.

Paris Maghoma played every minute for AFC Wimbledon as the Dons picked up wins in league and cup.

On Tuesday night, Maghoma set up the opener as AFC beat Weymouth 3-1 in their Emirates FA Cup first round replay. It was his quickly taken free-kick which Ayoub Assal collected, before curling home the opener just after the break. Ethan Chislett then scored a quickfire brace to ensure Wimbledon’s passage through despite a late Weymouth consolation.

It was the same pair who were then on target on Saturday during the Dons' 2-0 win over ten-man Tranmere. Maghoma again played the full game, with the goals coming after eight minutes and with eight minutes to play.

The Dons are now 13th in League Two, five points off the play-offs, with a pair of cup ties to come this week. They host rivals Sutton United in the second round of the EFL Trophy on Tuesday, before facing Chesterfield at home in the FA Cup second round on Saturday. Nathan Young-Coombes is back in contention for the fourth division side, having returned to training with them this week following injury.

Lachlan Brook also played a key role for Crewe Alexandra at the weekend, winning the penalty which saw them pick up all three points at Swindon Town. The winger was brought down midway through the first half, which Dan Agyei converted from the spot for the only goal of the game at the County Ground.

Brook played 54 minutes for Crewe who are a point and two places worse off than Wimbledon in the fourth tier, going into Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Barnsley.

Also in League Two, Ellery Balcombe’s heroics couldn’t prevent ten-man Crawley Town suffering an injury-time defeat at Walsall. Dom Telford and Hayden White exchanged early goals before the game changed on Ludwig Francillette’s 39th-minute red card. Balcombe repelled everything Walsall threw at him until Danny Johnson found a 92nd-minute winner at the Bescot Stadium.

19th-placed Crawley host Gillingham tonight in League Two but are without a game at the weekend due to their FA Cup exit.

Myles Peart-Harris helped Forest Green Rovers earn a point at home to Oxford United on Saturday. Peart-Harris played the full 90 minutes for Rovers, who took a share of the spoils thanks to Jamille Matt’s goal on the hour. Despite the point, Forest Green remain bottom of the table, six points from safety.

They host Cheltenham Town tonight in the EFL Trophy second round, before a home game against last round's giant-killers Alvechurch in the FA Cup second round on Saturday.

Daniel Oyegoke and MK Dons are also near the bottom of the table in League One following their 3-1 defeat to Barnsley on Saturday. Oyegoke was an unused substitute at Oakwell, with the Dons now three without a win. 21st in the table and six points from safety, MK host Newport County in the EFL Trophy second round on Tuesday and then head to Portsmouth in the FA Cup second round on Saturday.

Joel Valencia missed De Graafschap’s 2-0 win over Helmand Sports due to injury. The victory, a fourth in six, moves the Super Farmers up to 11th in the Dutch second division ahead of their three-week World Cup pause.
