Fin Stevens assisted Oxford United’s equaliser as they came from behind to win at Charlton Athletic on New Year’s Day, moving up to fifth in Sky Bet League One in the process.

The victory at the Valley came off the back of a 3-2 defeat to Derby County on Friday night, a game the U’s had led 2-0 after 13 minutes.

Chem Campbell put Charlton ahead after just five minutes but Stevens’ cross from the right was converted by Mark Harris midway through the first half to level. The winner came five minutes from time through Oisin Smyth.

Stevens played the full 90 minutes in both matches and now has an Emirates FA Cup third-round tie against Coventry City to look forward to this weekend.

Paris Maghoma and Bolton Wanderers extended their winning run to four games with a pair of victories over the weekend.
