Fin Stevens played 90 minutes as Oxford United came from behind to beat Stevenage 3-1 on Saturday, maintaining second spot in Sky Bet League One in the process.

Jamie Reid put third-placed Stevenage ahead from close range after 15 minutes but the U’s equalised eight minutes later when Stevens’ cross was headed onto the bar by Billy Bodin, and Greig Leigh reacted first to tap home. 

Leigh added a second 10 minutes after the break before Elliott Moore’s late third confirmed a third straight league victory. 

Oxford have back-to-back home games this week against Shrewsbury Town and Bristol Rovers.

The Gas and Matt Cox were on the end of a 2-0 defeat at Peterborough United on Saturday. Archie Collins netted midway through the first half and David Ajiboye added a second straight after the restart. 

Cox played the full 90 minutes with Tristan Crama still missing due to injury. 

14th in the table, Rovers host Port Vale on Tuesday night before a trip to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday. 

Elsewhere in the third tier, Paris Maghoma missed Bolton Wanderers’ 1-0 win over Port Vale due to a thigh injury while Ryan Trevitt also sat out of Exeter City’s 2-0 defeat at home to Northampton Town with a knock. 

In Sky Bet League Two, Daniel Oyegoke played 40 minutes of Bradford City’s 3-1 defeat at home to Walsall.

2-1 down when Oyegoke came on, Bradford conceded a third to Freddie Draper to confirm a first league defeat in six.

Mark Hughes’ side head to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night before a home game against Swindon Town at the weekend. 

Ben Winterbottom played the full 90 minutes for Welling United as they drew 2-2 at Gosport Borough in the third round of Emirates FA Cup qualifying. 

Leading 1-0 at the break, things took a turn for the worst as the Wings conceded twice, either side of Kain Adom’s sending off, in the opening nine minutes of the second half. 

However, Tristan Abrahams struck seven minutes into stoppage-time to set up a replay on Tuesday night.

After that Welling host Farnborough in the National League South on Saturday.
