Joey Barton’s side took a 2-1 lead into half-time, through Luke Thomas and Jack Hunt, with Aaron Collins and John Marquis completing the scoring after the break.

Cox played 90 minutes in goal, with Tristan Crama set for a few weeks out with a knee injury. 12th in the table, Rovers travel to Peterborough next Saturday.

The clash between Ryan Trevitt’s Exeter City and Fin Stevens’ Oxford United ended in a 3-0 win for Stevens and Oxford.
