Matt Cox kept his first professional clean sheet on Saturday, helping Bristol Rovers to a 2-0 victory at Shrewsbury Town. 

Cox did what he needed to do at the Croud Meadow before goals from John Marquis and Aaron Collins in the final 15 minutes settled the game. 

Tristan Crama was an unused substitute as Rovers picked up their second victory of the campaign. The Gas host West Ham United’s Under-21s on Wednesday night in the EFL Trophy before welcoming Wigan Athletic to the West Country on Saturday. 

It is Ryan Trevitt and Exeter City who continue to lead the way in the third tier.

Trevitt played the full 90 minutes in Exeter’s 1-0 victory at home to Cheltenham Town.
