The trophy, in memory of club employee Mary Halder, who spent more than 25 years at the club, was presented by B Team Head Coach Kevin O’Connor and Caroline Halder at half-time during our season finale against Hull City earlier this month.
Marcus struck 21 times for Kevin O’Connor’s side this term as they recorded a series of impressive results against some of Europe’s elite. The 18-year-old was on target in the wins over Benfica B, Rangers, Manchester United, Porto, and Manchester City on his way to a record goals haul for The B Team.
He has also been a main-stay for Finland’s Under-19s in their build-up to this summer’s European Championships on home soil. With a squad number, a call-up to the matchday group against Hull City, and a new three-year contract also coming his way this season, it all adds up to an impressive 12 months for the man signed from West Bromwich Albion in 2016.
