Brentford players will wear black arm bands at tonight's match with FC Erzgebirge Aue as a mark of respect for Tommy Higginson's passing.

The 75-year-old, who died on Sunday, played 433 first team games from 1960 to 1970, scoring 15 goals.

He moved to Hillingdon Borough in 1970 having been honoured in 1969 with a well attended testimonial against Queens Park Rangers.

Only four men - Ken Coote, Jamie Bates, Peter Gelson and current captain Kevin O'Connor - have played more games for Brentford in the club's history.

Manager Uwe Rösler said: "We were sad to hear of Tommy's death and wanted to show our respect for a man who served Brentford Football Club so very well in the past"
