The young Bees have flown to Cyprus to take part in the three-match tournament where they could come up against senior opponents from Cyprus, Russia, Latvia and Spain.
Brentford B have been put into Group A alongside Pafos FC and Rodina Moscow. In the Group stage each team will play two games and wherever the team places in the group come the end of the two matches, they will play against the team that finished in the same position in the other group. For example, if Brentford B were to record two wins and top their group, they would then play the winner of Group B in a final game.
TEAM NEWS
The young Bees have a slightly trimmed squad to choose from with players such as Nathan Shepperd, Joe Adams, Daniel Oyegoke, Matt Cox and Val Adedokun all away on international duty, however Neil MacFarlane and his staff still have a strong squad to select from. Nathan Young-Coombes, who netted for a Brentford XI earlier this week, will be aiming for more goals whilst the defensive back line will look to build on some good performances in recent weeks.
ABOUT PAFOS FC
Pafos play in the Cypriot First Division and go into the game following a 1-0 defeat away against Anorthosis and they currently sit in ninth place. They’ve had some mixed results of late as they beat PAEEK, lost to Apollon and drew 1-1 with Olympiakos Nicosia and Doxa.
LAST TIME WE MET
The sides last met back in March 2020 at the Stelios Kyriakides Stadium where the B Team won 6-0 with goals from Jaden Brissett (2), Matej Majka, Fredrik Hammar, Arthur Read and Nick Tsaroulla.
