Brentford B drew 2-2 with Italian side Como in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Tuesday afternoon, with Ivan Toney and Max Dickov netting second-half goals for the Bees.

Como went ahead after just six minutes, before strikes from Toney - who was featuring in his first game since he was allowed to resume training - and Dickov put the west Londoners ahead. The Serie B outfit netted a late equaliser to ensure the game ended all square.

The clash, which was played at AFC Wimbledon's Cherry Red Records Stadium, started at a decent pace and saw chances at both ends; Saman Ghoddos fired over on the volley inside the area for Brentford, and Giuseppe Mazzaglia did similar from the edge of the box for the visitors.

And Como took the lead just after those early sighters inside the opening six minutes. Francesco Lipari closed down Ellery Balcombe - who signed a new four-year contract on Tuesday morning - and the Italian's block deflected into the bottom corner.

The Bees were immediately back on the attack after the opening goal and, after some nice work from Ghoddos through the middle, the ball found its way out wide to Michael Olakigbe.

The winger, who came on as a substitute for the first team in their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday, did well to beat his man, but could only fire his shot straight at Pierre Bolchini in the Como goal.

Toney's first real involvement in the game came just before the half-hour mark, when Zanka worked the ball well from defence and played a lofted ball over to the centre-forward.

Toney controlled the ball well and, when he was tackled by a Como defender, the ball fell to Olakigbe, whose second effort of the clash whipped just wide of the far post.

Toney and Neal Maupay combined well throughout the half, especially in the 15 minutes before the break, and the former's through ball to the latter was almost perfect, but Brentford's no.17 was just offside.

It was that duo again that almost forged a Brentford equaliser, when Maupay held up the ball well on the edge of the area and laid it off to Toney, before the centre-forward lashed an effort towards goal from 25 yards out, which was parried away well by the keeper.

With the ball still alive in the Como third, a smart cross from Ethan Brierley was controlled well by Toney at the back post but, again, the keeper kept out his effort from close range.

The final chance of the half fell to Maupay. Yehor Yarmoliuk, who was at his industrious best throughout the game, picked up the ball in a central position on the edge of the area.

The midfielder looked up and played it wide to Toney, who quickly fed through Maupay on the penalty spot. The Frenchman shot first time, but it was Como's Bolchini who came out on top in the final minute of the 45.

With no changes at half-time, the second half started in a similar fashion to the way the first ended: with Brentford on top.

Toney found some space inside the penalty box a minute after the break but, after beating the keeper, his effort was cleared off the line. The rebound fell to Yarmoliuk on the edge of the area, but he fired over the bar.

Maupay had a similarly wayward effort over the bar and Balcombe did well to keep the score at 1-0 with a low sliding effort at the feet of Alejandro Blanco, just before the Bees scored the leveller.

With an hour on the clock and Brentford defending a corner, the ball was cleared to Onyeka, who broke powerfully down the right and played a great pass over the top to Toney.

The goalkeeper came out but the striker cleverly flicked it over him, before making his way into the box and slotting into an empty net that was attempting to be blocked by a Como defender.

Olakigbe was at the heart of things for the final 15 minutes of the game and he found Ethan Brierley who assisted Brentford's second. The midfielder's cross was directed at substitute Max Dickov, who did fantastically to direct his diving header into the back of the net.

Olakigbe ran down the left again soon after; this time, his lofted ball into the box was met by Tony Yogane, but the second-half addition's header was saved comfortably.

Olakigbe had one final chance to extend Brentford's lead when he beat his man again, but his shot from a tight angle ended up high and wide of the far post.

With five minutes to go, Como equalised. Charlie Farr's clearance fell to a Como forward inside the area, who netted from inside the six-yard box.

Both sides had chances to win the game in the final stages, with Nathan Young-Coombes' header the best of them for the Bees, but neither side could force the ball into the back of the net.
