Brentford midfielders Mathias Jensen and Mikkel Damsgaard have been named in the Denmark squad for the 2022 World Cup.
The duo, who have a combined 38 caps for Kasper Hjulmand's side, will be heading to Qatar for the tournament, which begins on Sunday 20 November.
Denmark are in Group D and will face Tunisia on Tuesday 22 November, France on Saturday 26 November and Australia in their final group game on Wednesday 30 November.
Jensen has been a regular starter for the Bees this season, featuring in every game this campaign. The central midfielder has three assists and one goal, which came in our 4-0 win over Manchester United.
Mikkel Damsgaard joined Thomas Frank's side in the summer from Sampdoria and has made ten appearances in all competitions this season.
The 22-year-old was influential in Denmark's last major tournament, having scored a stunning free-kick in the European Championship semi-final against England in 2021, which the Three Lions went on to win in extra-time.
Jensen and Damsgaard were part of a 21-player group announced on Monday 7 November.
A further five players will be added to Denmark's squad before the deadline on Friday 11 November, which could include Christian Norgaard.
Norgaard hasn't played for Brentford since August due to an Achilles injury, but will start against Gillingham in the Carabao Cup third round.
Thomas Frank was asked about the midfielder's World Cup prospects in his pre-match press conference.
“There is ongoing communication between the Denmark side and us,” said the Brentford head coach.
“Of course, Kasper [Hjulmand] and I have spoken and the two performance staffs have spoken because both sides are interested to get him back quickly.
“At this moment in time it’s more important for them because they’re going to a World Cup, but it’s also good for us; can he play these next two games, go to the World Cup and come back ready to kick on for us?
“Of course, I want him to go. I’ve known Christian since he was 15 years old, so I hope the best for him. It would be a big achievement to be called up for the World Cup.”
