Runners, families and children basked in the May sunshine as they took part in one of Brentford’s biggest sporting events at Syon Park. Organised in partnership with Brentford Lock West, Brentford SportsFEST - held on Sunday, 12 May - included a 10k, 5k and 3k race along with a 5k Walk and Talk (in association with West London NHS Trust) aimed at raising awareness of mental health.

The event also offered a special heart screening in partnership with the charity Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). The screening was established in memory of Brentford FC Technical Director Robert Rowan, whose life was tragically cut short in November 2018 when he suffered a fatal cardiomyopathy episode at only 28 years of age.

Rupa Huq, MP for Ealing Central and Acton, was at the event and paid tribute to Robert, who lived in her constituency. She spoke to brentfordfc.com along with Pete Gregorowski, who won the 10k race.
