Development Squad midfield player Jermaine Udumaga has signed a new contract to keep him at Brentford until the end of the 2015/16 season.

The 19-year-old joined The Bees in the summer after a successful trial.

He has impressed for Brentford in Under-21 Professional Development League Two matches and was an unused substitute in the Sky Bet Championship match against Charlton Athletic earlier this month, his first taste of First Team action.

He put pen to paper this afternoon, Thursday February 26, on a deal that will run until the end of next season.

Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “We signed Jermaine after he impressed us while playing as a trialist last season.

“We knew he fit the bill as a midfield player, he is a good passer of the ball and wants to play attacking football in the way we do.

“He has made great strides this season and fully deserves this new contract.

“He impressed enough to be included in the First Team squad earlier this month and if he keeps working hard I hope he will be able to do so again.

“Jermaine still has plenty of development left in him and working with our coaching staff, including Development Squad Manager Lee Carsley, will help him improve.”

Jermaine, who was a scholar at Oxford United, played four games for Brentford in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South in 2013/14.

He has played 18 games this season, captaining the side in recent weeks, and has scored eight goals from an attacking midfield position.
