Brentford striker Paul Hayes has extended his loan at Crawley Town until the end of the regular season.

The 29-year-old joined the Sussex side on loan last month and has played six games, scoring one goal.

The clubs have agreed to extend the deal until April 27 but there is a 24-hour recall clause which Brentford can activate at any time.

Mark Warburton, Brentford Football Club Sporting Director, said: “Paul has done very well for Crawley.

“He has played games for them and made an impact.

“We have the option to call him back if we need him.”

Brentford Manager Uwe Rösler said: “I will be going to watch Paul play for Crawley against Sheffield United on Tuesday.

“We will assess the situation on a game-by-game basis.

“It is important he gets a good run of games.

“It gives us the option to call him back if we need him and he will be fully match fit.”

The 29-year-old joined The Bees from Charlton Athletic last August.

He has scored six goals for Brentford this season in 30 games, 13 of which have been as a substitute.

Paul started out at Norwich City but moved to Scunthorpe United in 2002.

He spent six of the next eight seasons at Glanford Park and scored 74 goals for The Iron.

Paul also had spells at Barnsley, Huddersfield Town and Preston North End before joining Charlton in the summer of 2011.

He helped The Addicks to the npower League One title, the third time he had won promotion from the third tier and his fourth promotion in total.

He moved to Griffin Park on a three-year contract at the start of the 2012/13 season.
