Philipp Hofmann said he is fulfilling a dream by moving to England and playing football for Brentford.

The 23-year-old striker joined The Bees on Thursday from German club 1.FC Kaiserslautern on a three-year deal.

Philipp, who has scored 18 goals in 36 German Youth Internationals, said “I am very happy to be here. It is a wonderful club and I am happy to be here. Brentford is a beautiful club and they have a chance to get to the Premier League. This is a good chance for me and for the club. My dream is to play in England and my dream is coming true now.”

Speaking to Bees Player the tall-striker said that he felt the English style of football would suit him and he couldn’t wait to get going, starting with The Bees friendly with Stoke City tomorrow.

“English football is a little bit harder and more aggressive but that suits the type of player that I am,” said Philipp. “I knew a bit about Brentford before I came but not too much. I am learning more English now to help me speak to players.

“I am a big striker and I am good with my head so that will be good for the club. I hope to play against Stoke City on Saturday as my first game and I am very happy to be here.”
