Brentford B continue their Premier League Cup campaign on Saturday afternoon when they face Blackburn Rovers Under-21s in a 3pm kick-off at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

The young Bees have a perfect record in the competition so far having picked up three consecutive wins and they sit top of Group D. A win over Rovers will see the side into the knockout stages of the competition.

The B Team have recently returned from a trip to Italy where they faced Serie B side Como 1907 in a friendly fixture. It was the Italian club who came out on top as they picked up a 3-1 win in what was the first defeat for the B Team since the middle of August.

Ticket details

Entry to the match is £5 with kids (Under-12s) gaining entry for £1. Tickets can be bought on the day at the stadium.

Neil MacFarlane’s thoughts

The B Team Head Coach is looking forward to another test for the young Bees in what is a busy period of fixtures for the group as they continue their development.

He explained: “We’re trying to create a fixture programme which really tests the players, and I can’t be happier with that this year. To play on a Saturday, Tuesday and then Saturday is what the players have to do to perform. They’re playing in different types of games, different types of tactics, but they can handle it. They know the principles that we adhere to and it will be no different on Saturday.

“It’s another brilliant game for us and one we can really establish ourselves in the group if we can go on and beat Blackburn.”

Last time out

It was a match where the young Bees had a brilliant learning experience against Serie B side Como 1907 in Italy. Aaron Pressley grabbed his first goal for the Club since his return from a long-term injury.

Last time we met

The sides met just a couple of months ago when the Bees travelled north to face Rovers at Lancashire FA. The match was level at 2-2 before Kyreece Lisbie stepped up to score late and seal all three points for Brentford.
