Brentford Assistant Manager David Weir has been inducted in to the Hall of Fame at Rangers FC.

The 43-year-old was named as a Hall of Fame member at the Glasgow club in 2011.

He was officially inducted at a ceremony late last month and received the award last week.

He was unable to attend the Rangers Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony on March 30 as he was on Brentford duty.

David was at Rangers from 2007 until 2012, the final stop on a long and successful career as a player that also saw him play for Falkirk, Heart of Midlothian and Everton.

While at Ibrox he won three Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish Cup titles and three Scottish League Cup winners’ medals.

He was part of the Rangers team that lost in the UEFA Cup Final in 2008 and was named Scottish Premier League ‘Player of the Year’ and Scottish Football Writers’ ‘Player of the Year’ in 2010.

David was still playing for Rangers when he was inducted in 2011, the first current player to be given the honour at the Glasgow club.

More on the award can be seen on the Rangers website here.

David was appointed as Brentford Assistant Manager in December.
