Brentford goalkeeper Richard Lee has signed a new contract to keep him at Griffin Park until the summer of 2014.

Richard’s current deal was due to expire at the end of this season but he has signed an extension and will stay with Brentford until the end of the 2013/14 season.

The 30-year-old joined The Bees from Watford in the summer of 2010.

He came through the youth ranks at Watford and progressed to the first team, making his debut in February 2003.

He played in the Premier League for The Hornets and made 110 appearances in all competitions before heading to West London.

Although he started the 2010/11 season on the substitute’s bench his performances in Brentford’s runs in the Carling Cup and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy saw him established as first choice by November and he was named Supporters’ ‘Player of the Year’ at the end of the campaign.

He continued to hold the number one jersey for most of the 2011/12 season and played 42 games in all competitions during the campaign.

Injury saw Richard miss out on the start of the current campaign to Simon Moore but he has continued his impressive form, conceding just two goals in five games so far in 2012/13.

In total, Richard has now played 80 games for The Bees in all competitions.
