Match Referee: Robert Jones
Assistant Referees: Eddie Smart and Simon Beck
Fourth Official: Jeremy Simpson
VAR: Kevin Friend
Assistant VAR: Scott Ledger.
Robert Jones has had a rapid rise through the refereeing pyramid.
The Merseyside Official only joined Select Group 2 in 2017 before progressing to Select Group 1 ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Jones' first assignment in the second tier was our trip to Barnsley in April 2017. The game ended in a 1-1 draw; Florian Jozefzoon scoring the equaliser before Jota missed a second-half penalty. 12 months on, he took charge of our 1-0 win over Ipswich Town at Griffin Park, Neal Maupay scoring the only goal from the penalty spot following a foul on Sergi Canos.
After losing four straight during the 18/19 and 19/20 season, Jones took charge of two huge games in 2020. He was the man in charge of our 1-1 draw at home to Leeds United in February and then oversaw our 2-1 final day defeat to Barnsley at Griffin Park.
Jones' only Brentford outing last season was a memorable one, taking charge as we beat Saturday's opponents Newcastle United to book our spot in the last four of the Carabao Cup, our first ever major cup semi-final.
So far this season, Jones has shown 24 yellow cards in seven matches across the Premier League, Sky Bet Championship, and Carabao Cup.
Newcastle United 2021/22
107 fouls – 11th in Premier League
30 yellow cards – Most in Premier League
1 red cards – Joint-Most in Premier League
Saturday's game is not being broadcast live in the UK so the only way for domestic fans to follow all the action is to listen on BeesPlayer. Joining Mark Burridge will be former Bees favourite Isaiah Rankin.
