Noades, who owned the majority shareholding in Brentford Football Club from 1998 to 2006, died after battling with lung cancer for most of this year.

The former owner of Southall, Wimbledon, and Crystal Palace, bought Brentford in 1998 from David Webb, and installed himself as Chairman and Manager that summer.

He won the Nationwide Division Three Championship in 1999 in his first season.

He resigned as manager after a home FA Cup defeat to Kingstonian in 2000, remaining as Chairman until 2003, when Supporters’ Trust Bees United took operational control of Brentford.

Noades eventually sold his majority shareholding in January 2006 to Bees United, with his loans into the Club repaid by current owner Matthew Benham a year later.
