Saïd Benrahma marked his third appearance for Algeria with an assist as they drew with Democratic Republic of Congo last night. The Brentford attacker started the game, which finished 1-1, and played for just over an hour. His shot, inside the first six minutes, was well saved low down by Congo goalkeeper Parfait Mandanda but Islam Slimani was on hand to tap in.

That early goal gave Algeria a platform to build on in the international friendly, but Congo came back. They equalised before the half hour through Cédric Bakambu and there were no further goals. Saïd was withdrawn just past the hour mark but earned his second cap since joining Brentford last summer and his third overall.

Saïd is with Algeria for a further four days as they have one more match. The Africa Cup of Nations winners will face Colombia in Lille on Tuesday in another friendly. They then begin qualification for the 2021 African Cup of Nations next month.

The France Under-21 team were also in action last night. They beat Azerbaijan 5-0 in their first qualifier for the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championships. Brentford attacker Bryan Mbeumo is in the squad but was not in the matchday group. France play Slovakia in their next qualifier on Tuesday.
