Seven Brentford players out on loan were in action last weekend. Brentford have players out on loan all over the world and there were good and bad moments for them over the course of the past few days. Some of our players are battling for promotion while others are fighting relegation and the end of the season is in sight.
Dominic Thompson played 90 minutes for Sky Bet League One Play-Off chasers Ipswich Town on Saturday. They looked set for three points away to Play-Off rivals Oxford United as they held the lead in stoppage time. But Oxford found an equaliser to deny Ipswich all three points.
Striker Marcus Forss was in action for Hull City in the Championship. He came on in the 75th minute of a defeat to Luton Town. Marcus set up a goal for Tom Eaves but could not prevent Luton taking the points. Hull slipped to 20th in the table ahead of a two week gap for international matches.
At the other end of the table, Sheffield United climbed in to the top five with a win over Barnsley. Second half goals from Sander Berge and Morgan Gibbs-White gave them the points. Charlie Goode is on loan at Sheffield United but is currently injured and sat the game out.
Ellery Balcombe played 90 minutes for Bromley in a Vanarama National League draw with Wrexham. The match ended 0-0 and keeps both sides in the Play-Off hunt. Bromley are ninth in the table, four points behind Notts County, who occupy the final Play-Off spot.
Mads Bidstrup gave a Man of the Match display for FC Nordsjælland, even though they were beaten by FC Copenhagen. The game was decided by a single goal inside the first ten minutes. Copenhagen end the first part of the Danish Superliga season top while Mads and Nordsjælland are tenth. The bottom six teams will play each other home and away again in the final ten games of the season and Nordsjælland need to finish at least tenth to avoid relegation.
A league below, Luka Racic is at HB Køge in the NordicBet Liga, the Danish second tier. He scored an own goal as Køge drew 2-2 with FC Fredericia. Køge had a 2-0 lead but were pegged back and dropped two vital points. It left them seventh after the first part of the season. Only the top six can fight for promotion in the latter part of the campaign.
Galatasaray Spor Kulübü were beaten 3-1 by Gaziantep F.K. in the Turkish league on Sunday. Galatasaray had the lead in the first half but were level at the break and lost the match in the second half. Halil DerviÅŸoÄŸlu in on loan at Galatasaray but was an unused substitute.
In Australia, Adelaide United drew 0-0 with West Sydney Wanderers. Brentford B attacker Lachlan Brook is on loan at Adelaide and played 88 minutes of the stalemate. Adelaide remain third in the A-League.
Finally, Brentford’s Ecuadorian winger Joel Valencia was in action for Agrupación Deportiva Alcorcón at the bottom of the Spanish second tier. He came on as a 55th minute substitute in a 0-0 draw with SD Amorebieta, in the Segunda División. Alcorcón are bottom of the table, nine points behind Amorebieta with ten games left.
