A pitch inspection will be held at 1pm to see if Brentford’s Sky Bet League One match against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane can go ahead this evening, Wednesday February 12.
United staff are continuing to monitor the Bramall Lane pitch and the weather forecast ahead of the match.
As of 10am on Wednesday morning, the playing surface is playable, with the Bramall Lane ground staff currently working on one or two small damp areas.
Brentford Manager Mark Warburton, Assistant Manager David Weir and Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough also viewed the pitch on this morning.
A few problems are still covered and will remain so until as late as possible.
An issue is the weather forecast.
It is expected to rain in the area of Bramall Lane continuously from mid-morning for around four hours, clearing mid to late afternoon, showers are then forecasted after that.
The wind could also be a problem later, with gusts of around 70mph expected for the area.
With Bees fans on Brentford Travel Club coaches heading north at 1.30pm, Sheffield United have liaised with the Football League and feel it is best to conduct an early look at the pitch.
A pitch inspection will take place by a local referee at 1pm.
Further updates will be released on all Brentford FC media channels when the playing surface has been checked.
