School children from Hounslow benefited from Short Breaks – an educational project for children with special needs - earlier this year. Based at Griffin Park Learning Zone, the children enjoy an array of educational activities – including a journalism workshop.

Jo, project coordinator at Hounslow council, said: “We have been working with Griffin Park Learning Zone for eight years now. It has become a very successful partnership; providing quality short breaks for disabled young people in the borough.  Griffin Park Learning Zone deliver sessions that are both enjoyable and educational for young people - giving them opportunities to flourish and develop their skills, confidence and self-esteem.

"It is so important to look after these young people as they face challenges that their ‘mainstream’ counterparts will never face and Griffin Park Learning Zone - with their skilled staff and enthusiasm - mean that the young people who are involved benefit greatly from the experience."

The Learning Zone is part of Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust. It is an education centre situated in the heart of Brentford Football Club’s Griffin Park Stadium. During the week the Brentford FC Media Room is transformed into an ICT and learning suite offering stimulating activities which motivate and inspire learners.

The work of the Trust will be celebrated at Brentford's Sky Bet Championship game against Hull City on Sunday May 6. This fixture is our Community Match where we will all support Brentford FC Community Sports Trust as for every ticket sold (including Season Tickets), £1 will be donated to our charity.
