EFL title sponsor Sky Bet introduced new Golden Boot trophies for the 2017/18 season to mark the top goalscorers of each of the EFL divisions and handed them out last week. There were also all-new Sky Bet EFL Golden Glove awards for the goalkeepers who kept the most clean sheets in the division.

The Sky Bet Championship Golden Glove was presented to Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper John Ruddy for his total of 24 clean sheets for the season. That was four more than nearest rival Sam Johnstone of Aston Villa. Christian Walton of Wigan Athletic took the League One prize while Aaron Chapman, of Accrington Stanley, won the Sky Bet League Two Golden Glove Award after keeping 18 clean sheets this season

The race for the Sky Bet Championship Golden Boot was tight, with Derby County’s Matej Vydra topping the charts with 21 goals. His goal against Barnsley on the final day of the season saw him edge ahead of Lewis Grabban, who notched for both Aston Villa and Sunderland this term. Bobby Reid of Bristol City and Leon Clarke of Sheffield United were next.

In Sky Bet League One Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott took the prize with 27 goals. He finished three ahead of Brett Pitman of Portsmouth. Billy Kee made it a double for Accrington in League Two. His 25 goals for the season saw him scoop the award.
