The regular Sky Bet Championship season is now at a close and 20 of the 24 teams that will be competing in the second tier next season are now confirmed. Brentford ended the season 11th in the table, securing a top half finish for the fifth year in a row. Brentford will, for the sixth season in succession, be in the second tier next season and the last season of football at Griffin Park will be with The Bees as a Championship side.

The majority of the 2019/20 Championship was already known but with Derby County securing a Play-Off place yesterday, two more teams were confirmed. Middlesbrough and Bristol City started yesterday with a chance of reaching the Play-Offs but missed out as Derby finished sixth. They will, like The Bees, remain in the Championship next season.

Most of the teams coming in to the division are also already known. Cardiff City were relegated on Saturday and join Fulham and Huddersfield Town in dropping down from the Premier League. Two divisions lower, Luton Town and Barnsley had already confirmed their promotion and will be joining the Championship on happier terms.
