Travel and transport
Train cancellations expected on return to London
As result of a shortage of train crew there will be a number of short notice cancellations on Saturday 7 October that will affect fans travelling back after the game. Currently both the 6.35pm and 6.55pm departures from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston are cancelled. The 6.15pm, 7.15pm and 8.15pm will run however they are expected to be very busy. Replacement coach transport to Crewe is currently being explored, from where customers can join other London bound services.
Travelling to Manchester
The closest stations to Old Trafford are Manchester Piccadilly station, located on London Road and 3.5 miles away from the ground, and Manchester Oxford Road station, 2.7 miles from the ground.
From Manchester Piccadilly station, you can take the Metrolink westbound towards Old Trafford.
If you are arriving from Manchester Oxford Road station, you can take any eastbound service towards Manchester Piccadilly, before taking the Metrolink to the stadium.
You can use the tram or Metrolink to get to the stadium. The closest stop, Old Trafford, is a 10-minute walk from the ground.
Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines on the platforms by cash or credit/debit card.
Lancashire County Cricket Club on Warwick Road will be on your left-hand side as you approach Old Trafford. The walk from Warwick Road leads onto Sir Matt Busby Way.

Bus routes 79, 255, 256, 263, 250 and X50 all connect Old Trafford with Manchester city centre.
Driving to Old Trafford
From city centre
Old Trafford lies southwest of central Manchester, a short trip away using the A56 or the A57 and Trafford Road.
Fans arriving from the west or south are able to avoid Manchester city centre on their way to the ground, if desired.
Stadium area
The stadium lies just south of the Manchester Ship Canal, and is approached by the A5081 (Wharfside Way) from the west, A5063 (Trafford Road) from the north, and A56 (Chester Road) from the south and east.
Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground is five minutes south of Old Trafford.
Sir Matt Busby Way, which leads right up to the stadium, is closed on matchdays.
Parking near Old Trafford
Trafford Council operates a pay-to-park facility on event days within the Trafford Village area of Trafford Park, close to Old Trafford.
Payment can be made via RingGo using a mobile phone or app on the day of an event.
Access to car parks E1 and E2 can only be gained via Wharfside Way with the relevant permits.
Parking is also available at the St. Teresas Primary School, which can be booked here.
Anyone attempting to access via Chester Road will be directed around the traffic system, which may cause further delays. Where acting upon police instructions, supporters parking at E1 and E2 may be held back after the match.
There are other council-approved facilities near to the stadium. Caution should be taken when using unapproved parking sites, as some of these are known to breach local authority parking regulations and could result in a ticket being issued, for which the club is not liable.

No ticket upgrades will be available on the day of the fixture.
If duplicate tickets are arranged, they will be available to collect from ticketing and membership services, four hours prior to kick-off on the day of the game, and only on the production of valid photo ID.
Away turnstiles are located at the south east corner of the stadium and will open two hours prior to kick-off.
Your matchday at Old Trafford
Most pubs in the vicinity of Old Trafford will not admit away supporters, even without identifiable colours.
The closest options will be in Salford Quays, around a mile from Old Trafford, where the swift-serving Lime Bar (Unit G1, The Quays, Salford M50 3AG) regularly welcomes away supporters along with The Matchstick Man (Capital Quay, Salford M50 3WL).
Old Trafford cricket ground (Talbot Road, Old Trafford, Stretford, Manchester M16 0PX), the home of Lancashire County Cricket Club, also runs an outdoor bar on football matchdays, where away fans are welcome.
Matchday activity
This is a dedicated No Room For Racism fixture. Players will take the knee ahead of kick-off. Manchester United players will wear black armbands as a mark of respect following the sad passing of Sir Alex Ferguson's wife, Lady Cathy Ferguson.
Manchester United Foundation’s winter coat appeal
Manchester United Foundation is asking fans to join them in ensuring local young people can access warm clothing this winter, by donating clean adult and children’s coats at Old Trafford ahead of the match.
The Foundation will invest £100,000 in purchasing hats, gloves and scarves, which will be imminently distributed to our participants ahead of the winter period, and is requesting fans to supplement this effort by donating coats at Old Trafford.
Coats that are donated by fans on the day of the Brentford fixture will be redistributed by the Foundation to young people accessing their community and education programmes, and by local poverty charities in Greater Manchester. The Foundation has also identified a charity in Ukraine as an additional beneficiary of the coats received from the appeal.
Coats can be donated at the bag drop areas around the stadium, where volunteers will be on hand to receive coats.
Safety
Old Trafford is a no smoking stadium and this includes the use of electronic cigarettes.
Entry to the stadium will be refused with any other articles deemed dangerous, hazardous or that compromise public health and safety.
All bags will be searched and items larger than the size criteria must be left at one of the bag drop facilities.
