Winger Stuart Dallas has signed for Leeds United for an undisclosed fee.

The Northern Ireland international has been at Griffin Park since the summer of 2012, when he signed from IFA Premiership side Crusaders.

After playing a part in Brentford’s promotion from Sky Bet League One in 2014, he had a key role as The Bees reached the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs last season, featuring in 38 league games, 23 from the start, and scoring six goals.

Brentford accepted an offer from Leeds for Stuart late last week and he completed the move earlier today, Tuesday 4 August.

Marinus Dijkhuizen, Brentford FC Head Coach, said: "I enjoyed working with Stuart over recent weeks and seeing him play in some of our pre-season matches. He is a talented player and I'm sure he will have a successful career at Leeds.

“We will look forward to playing against Leeds and Stuart in September."

Phil Giles, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, added: "Stuart and I spoke on several occasions about his future and reached the conclusion that it was in the best interests of everyone to accept an offer from Leeds.

“I'd like to thank Stuart for all his hard work at Brentford, and wish him well at his new club."

Stuart, 24, joined The Bees after two years with Crusaders.

During his time with the Belfast side he won the Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year honours and earned his first international cap.

Stuart, who also has Under-21 and Under-23 caps, spent a spell on loan at Northampton Town during the 2013/14 season and returned to Griffin Park to help The Bees to promotion, scoring in the last two games of the campaign.

In 2014/15 he scored eight goals in 43 appearances in all competitions and won his way back in to a Northern Ireland squad that looks set to earn qualification to the 2016 UEFA European Championships.

He leaves Griffin Park having played 74 games in all competitions and scored ten goals.
