Tariqe Fosu has been recalled from his season-long loan with Stoke City and will join fellow Sky Bet Championship side Rotherham United until the end of the 2022/23 season.
Fosu joined the Potters in August and went onto play 20 Championship games for Alex Neil’s side, 13 of them from the start.
The 27-year-old now heads to a Rotherham side who sit 19th in the second tier, directly above his former team on goal difference.
Last weekend’s 4-0 win over Blackburn Rovers saw the Millers open up a four-point gap to the drop zone with 19 games to play.
Following his time in the Potteries, Fosu is closing in on 250 professional appearances, 63 of which have come in the red and white of Brentford.
He has also scored five goals for the Bees.
