Referee: Thomas Bramall
Assistant Referees: Adrian Waters and Mark Dwyer
Fourth Official: Marc Edwards
There will be a new face taking charge of a Brentford game on Saturday with Thomas Bramall appointed for our FA Cup trip to Port Vale.
The Sheffield-based referee is relatively new to the English Football League having been appointed to the National List of Referees prior to the start of the 2018/19 season.
His maiden season in the EFL saw him referee 44 matches across Leagues One and Two, the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, showing 102 yellow cards and three reds.
After a positive first season in the professional game, an ACL injury picked up in the summer of 2019 paused his progress up the leagues and even threatened to end his career at the elite level. He returned to action in February 2020 and quickly picked up where he left off before his injury.
The 2020/21 season saw the Yorkshire official make his Championship debut, when he took charge of the Preston North End vs Luton Town game in March, and referee of the League Two Play-Off Semi-Final between Morecambe and Tranmere Rovers.
Last summer saw Bramall become a permanent fixture in the second tier as he was named in the Select Group Two of Match Officials.
This season has seen him officiate 20 times, showing 64 yellow cards, and five reds, three of which came last time out when Cardiff City faced West Bromwich Albion.
Port Vale 21/22

37 yellow cards - 14th in Sky Bet League Two
